ℹ️ About Norwegian Air Shuttle

Norwegian Air Shuttle is Scandinavia's largest low-cost carrier and one of Europe's most disruptive airline brands, having single-handedly transformed the transatlantic budget travel market in the 2010s with ultra-low-fare long-haul services before a painful restructuring reduced it to a leaner but financially healthier European carrier. Operating from its primary base at Oslo Gardermoen Airport and maintaining significant operations at Stockholm Arlanda, Copenhagen, and London Gatwick, Norwegian connects Scandinavia and the UK with European leisure and city destinations at prices that consistently challenge the legacy carriers. Norwegian was one of the first airlines to order the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for use on low-cost long-haul routes, attempting to crack the transatlantic market with affordable fares between European cities and US East Coast destinations including New York, Boston, and Fort Lauderdale.

Though the long-haul experiment was ultimately abandoned in 2021 following Norwegian's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, the airline emerged as a focused European low-cost carrier that continues to offer competitive fares on Scandinavian and European routes. Norwegian's Reward loyalty program is popular in Scandinavia, offering cashback-style rewards that frequent flyers can use toward future flights.
