Ryanair allows ONE free small bag per passenger with every ticket (including the cheapest fares):

• Free small personal bag: Maximum 40 x 20 x 25 cm (must fit under the seat in front)

For a larger cabin bag (55 x 40 x 20 cm — overhead bin size), you need either:

• Ryanair Priority Boarding add-on (cheapest option, typically €6–€25 depending on route)

• Plus, Flexi Plus, or Business Plus fare

Overhead bin bags without Priority:

• If you try to bring a larger bag without Priority, it will be put in the hold at the gate

• Gate bag fee: €50 — much more expensive than buying Priority in advance

Important rules:

• Weight: There is no weight limit for the free small bag

• Larger bag (priority): No weight limit stated but must fit in overhead

• One bag per person only — no exceptions

• The 40x20x25cm measurement includes handles and wheels

Tip: Ryanair staff at the gate do measure bags with a sizer frame. If your bag does not fit, you pay €50 cash at the gate.
