ℹ️ About Flybe

Flybe is a British regional airline that has had one of the most turbulent corporate histories in European aviation, having collapsed and been resurrected twice, most recently relaunching in April 2022 under new ownership. Operating from its base at Birmingham Airport, the reborn Flybe focuses on connecting regional UK cities and providing links from UK regional airports to European destinations that are poorly served by the major low-cost carriers concentrated at Heathrow, Gatwick, and Manchester. Before its original collapse, Flybe was the UK's largest domestic airline and Europe's largest regional carrier, operating nearly 40% of all UK domestic flights and providing critical air links for communities in Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, and remote English regional cities.

The current incarnation of Flybe operates a smaller, focused network compared to its previous form, connecting Birmingham with a selection of Scottish, Irish, and European destinations. The airline operates ATR 72 turboprop aircraft and de Havilland Canada Dash 8 aircraft suited to the shorter routes and smaller airports of the UK regional network. Flybe's service fills genuine gaps in UK regional connectivity where surface transport alternatives are slow or impractical.
