Eurowings

Eurowings is Lufthansa Group's low-cost subsidiary airline, operating as Germany's largest budget carrier and one of Europe's significant low-cost operators on short and medium-haul routes across Europe and select leisure long-haul destinations. Headquartered in Düsseldorf, Eurowings serves as the Lufthansa Group's answer to Ryanair and easyJet — providing price-competitive travel options for European leisure and point-to-point travelers who do not require the full-service offering of Lufthansa mainline. The airline operates from multiple German bases including Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Hamburg, Stuttgart, and Munich, as well as international bases in Vienna and other European cities.

Eurowings offers three main fare levels: BASIC (seat only), SMART (includes hand baggage, seat selection, and flexibility), and BIZclass (on select longer routes). The airline operates a mixed Airbus fleet and has been streamlined significantly from its earlier complex structure that included multiple Germanwings/Eurowings entities. Eurowings Discovery (formerly Eurowings International/Condor joint operations) handles long-haul leisure routes, while the mainline Eurowings brand focuses on European short-haul operations.

As part of the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings passengers can earn Miles & More miles on qualifying bookings, a benefit that distinguishes it from purely independent low-cost carriers.
