ℹ️ About AirAsia X

AirAsia X is AirAsia's long-haul low-cost carrier, operating medium to long-haul budget scheduled services from Kuala Lumpur KLIA2 to destinations across East Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and increasingly Africa and Central Asia. Founded in 2007 to extend the AirAsia low-cost model to longer routes that AirAsia's A320s cannot economically serve, AirAsia X operates Airbus A330 widebody aircraft and aims to offer the lowest fares possible on intercontinental routes. The airline pioneered the Asian long-haul LCC model alongside Scoot and Jetstar, demonstrating that passengers will trade service for price even on 8-10 hour flights.

AirAsia X has resumed aggressive international expansion post-pandemic, launching services to Nairobi (Kenya) and Almaty (Kazakhstan) in 2024 — marking its entry into the African and Central Asian markets. The airline's fleet expansion continues as demand for affordable long-haul Asian travel grows.
