Aeromar

Aeromar is a Mexican regional carrier specializing in connecting smaller and secondary Mexican cities that cannot be economically served by the large narrow-body jets of mainline Mexican carriers. Operating a fleet of ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprop aircraft, Aeromar fills a critical gap in Mexico's domestic aviation network by providing air service to communities in states including Guerrero, Oaxaca, Michoacán, and Jalisco that would otherwise have no commercial air access. The airline is headquartered at Mexico City's Benito Juárez International Airport and operates as a codeshare partner with Aeromexico, feeding passengers into the larger carrier's international hub from points throughout Mexico that Aeromexico cannot serve directly.

Aeromar's turboprop operations are particularly suited to shorter runways and higher-altitude airports found in Mexico's mountainous interior regions. The airline provides a lifeline for communities in the Mexican states where road transport is challenging due to terrain, and where air connectivity is essential for economic development and emergency services. Despite its small size, Aeromar plays an outsized role in Mexico's regional aviation ecosystem as one of the few operators willing and able to serve thin regional routes.
